Bailey Captures First Win In Career!

For the first time in his career Bailey has secured a 1st place victory in an official race. The race was hosted by BoxRaceBrazil, where Bailey races often. Having been consistently finishing in the top 10 in most races this victory was quite new and refreshing.

"I can still remember my very first official race. Back in September of 2012 I raced the BMW 320i at a track in Arizona. I was about 11 seconds off of the pace of the leader, but I was still able to finish the race. Now it looks like I was the leader. It's crazy to think that I achieved a position that I admired so many years ago."

Bailey drove a Ford GT as other in the race chose from an assortment of 24hr GT cars such as the likes of BMW, Corvette, Audi, and other manufacturers. Due to delays the race started an hour later than scheduled and Bailey moved up the grid to start the race in 4th place despite qualifying for 7th.

"I didn't really do anything different this time. I enjoyed the layout of the track and I had a very stable and easy to drive setup for the car. I just kept the car on the track and hoped for the best." -Bailey

For most of the race Bailey remained in 3rd position after one of the competitors spun ahead of him, almost causing a collision. Bailey was able to avoid the spin car by inches. Bailey continued the race, battling 2 other competitors early on.

Knowing that he was in the top 3 Bailey pitted half way through the 40 minute race for fuel. He took a little more than necessary because he said that he did not want to stress out about the amount of fuel he would have near the end of the race.

Twenty minutes later Bailey was the first to cross the finish line and claim victory.

"Ya know, I didn't realize that I was in first until I looked at the results screen. I pitted 2 laps before the guy ahead of me went through the pits. My out lap was fast enough to be able to pas him as he was coming out of the pits later on. From then on I had no idea what position I was in the field. I just drove until it was over." -Bailey

After realizing that he won the race Bailey took a victory lap while waiving at the fans around the track. He then proceed to perform some donuts at the Finish Line. A win well deserved.

The live in-car video of his run can be seen below. The race was held on 03FEB2014.
